January at El Oceano is a season of quiet transformation. While the Mediterranean waves reclaim the shoreline and the Andalusian sky takes on a crisp, clear blue, our team takes this time to refresh, rejuvenate, and refine. We believe that to maintain our “cool and crisp” standard of excellence, this annual pause is essential.
Behind our closed doors, plans are being drawn, menus are being imagined, and every corner of the hotel is being polished to perfection in anticipation of your return.
For our guests, January is the ultimate time for planning. It is the month of new beginnings and the perfect moment to secure your favourite suite or a sought-after table for the upcoming season. While the hotel is silent, our reservation systems are buzzing with the excitement of guests looking forward to the spring sun. January marks the end of our Season. Every year, we close for a few weeks – our ‘hibernation’ – to take a short break, but mostly to prepare, repair and update the hotel and restaurant, ready for the new season.
The biggest day of January is normally, and not too surprisingly, the first. New Year’s Day at El Oceano is always a fantastic event, marking both the end of our season and the start of the bright new year! Always a sell-out, guests often book their tables weeks or months in advance for the New Year’s Day Dinner.

Naturally, we are happy to accept holiday reservations for later in the year, throughout January, although you may find your confirmation is a little slower, as we maintain a minimal administrative team during our hibernation.
