El Oceano's restaurant is one of the finest dining experiences on the Costa del Sol — and it's open to everyone. You don't need to be a hotel guest to join us for lunch, dinner, or one of our celebrated special events. What you do need is a reservation, particularly for weekend evenings, the Sunday Experience, and our Full Moon Gala Dinners.

We serve lunch and dinner every day throughout the season, in two stunning restaurant areas: the Ocean Room, with its panoramic sea views and live entertainment most evenings; the elegant Veranda, glass-walled and seemingly suspended over the water; and the beachfront terrace, open during the summer months for al-fresco dining right on the Mediterranean.

Our à la carte menu is carefully crafted and changes with the season, and our kitchen is happy to cater for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets — please let us know your requirements at the time of booking. A smart-casual dress code applies; we ask that gentlemen wear long trousers for evening dining.

Three Dining Settings

The El Oceano restaurant offers three distinct dining environments, each with its own character and appeal.

The Ocean Room is the heart of the restaurant — the first thing you'll see as you arrive, with its large glass walls looking directly out onto the beach and the Mediterranean beyond. On warm evenings these are opened fully, and the boundary between inside and outside dissolves entirely, creating an impression of dining right on the water's edge. The Ocean Room is where most of our live entertainment takes place, with a small stage and dancing area, and it's the setting for some of the liveliest and most celebratory evenings of the season.

The Veranda is a little apart from the main room — a glass-enclosed dining space that feels simultaneously intimate and dramatic, with views towards the mountains of North Africa that are genuinely breathtaking at sunset. It's a wonderful setting for a quieter, more private dinner, and a favourite for special occasions and romantic evenings.

The beachfront terrace opens during the summer months and is simply one of the most beautiful outdoor dining spaces on the coast. Right on the Mediterranean, with the sea in front of you and the open Spanish sky above, it's a setting that does most of the work before the food even arrives.

The Menu and the Kitchen

El Oceano's kitchen produces an à la carte menu of real ambition and quality — the kind of food that justifies the award-winning reputation without ever feeling showy or over-complicated. The menu changes with the seasons and reflects the best of what's available, with a strong Mediterranean influence running throughout. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are available, and our kitchen is happy to accommodate other dietary requirements with advance notice. Please mention your needs when you make your reservation and we'll take care of everything.

A smart-casual dress code applies throughout the restaurant. We ask that gentlemen wear long trousers for evening dining — it's a small courtesy that helps maintain the atmosphere all of our guests come here to enjoy.

Entertainment and Special Events

Live music is part of the El Oceano experience almost every evening, performed by a roster of talented regular entertainers along with special guests from across Europe throughout the season. The restaurant has a small stage and dancing area in the Ocean Room, and on entertainment evenings the combination of food, music, and atmosphere creates something genuinely special.

The Sunday Experience has become something of an institution on the Costa del Sol — a long, celebratory Sunday lunch that combines great food with live entertainment and a relaxed, festive atmosphere that draws guests from right across the region. Bookings for Sunday are strongly recommended.

Our Full Moon Gala Dinners are among the most anticipated events of the season — elegant, atmospheric evenings timed to coincide with the full moon, combining a specially curated menu with live entertainment and a setting that takes full advantage of the beachfront location. Places are limited and they fill up quickly, so if you're hoping to attend, early booking is essential.
